ASSOCIATE MEDICAL DIRECTOR – Full-time

Description: The Associate Medical Director is responsible to provide clinical direction, guidance and support to the management team, staff and the over 500 actively practicing, independent contracting Physician reviewers on our panel. Our reviewers evaluate numerous medical issues for our clientele including questions of medical necessity, whether proposed treatment is experimental/ investigational, eligibility for coverage and many other issues related to appropriateness of care.
In this role, the Associate Medical Director will oversee the clinical aspects of the review process and support case reviews, including but not limited to:
Support the Reviewer selection and assignment process
Resolve operational issues arising in connection with the clinical aspects of review cases
Communicate with assigned Reviewers and with treating/ordering practitioners/providers
Evaluate the clinical aspects of a review case, including assessment of non-physician Reviewers’ non-certification determinations and development of appropriate review outcome notifications
Advise and provide guidance to Reviewers on the medical aspects of review cases in all categories and provide them with information pertinent to their assigned cases and related review processes
Perform case reviews as needed
Additionally, this position will supervise the quality of reviews from physicians for accuracy in ICD-9-CM and CPT coding. When necessary, this position will facilitate a second review for training purposes and evaluate the reviewing physicians’ logic in their analysis of cases.

The position is responsible for oversight of the regulatory compliance program and serves as the company’s Compliance Officer. This individual is responsible for all corporate wide compliance activities as well as to ensure ongoing and timely compliance with applicable regulations and accrediting bodies.
Description: This individual will serve as the resource and offer guidance and support in the area of regulatory compliance and accreditation requirements to all clients and all employees throughout the company.
